No, you're right, that's where it should be. Plus, it obviously works up until that point because that's the same folder message-form.php is in, and that page worked fine. It's just postmsg.php that isn't working for you.

This is a really weird problem. You never told me what version of php you're using.

Another idea, do you have postmsg.php in your template directory? For instance, my-templates/[template name]/postmsg.php

Your error would make sense if that weren't there.

The plugin was written for an older version of bbpress and that's why you couldn't create it through the bb-plugins interface. It's one of those things I want to do (update the plugin), but just don't have time for. Sorry :)

As for your other questions:
1. It doesn't support email. I had entertained the idea of adding that functionality, but never got around to it. Sorry.
2. Everything in the code is open source and you're welcome to change the words therein. Check my-plugins/bb-privatemessage.php for most of what you're looking for. The function pm_fp_link() has "You have X new messages." pm_user_link() has both "PM This User" and "Login to send PM." pm_post_form() has "Send Private Message" and "You must login to post." So does pm_reply_form(). pm_user_form() has the title and various other phrases in it.

I hope this helps

Thank you, it worked!!! Wonderfully.
Its interesting, it the first plugin that I have had to create a my-plugins folder for, the rest, I have createn from withing bb-plugins. That might of been part of the problem. Another part of the problem was to actually go to the plugins page in the administrators panel and activate the plugin.

Ive got two more questions: does this pluggin send the PM to users email in the template? if not, how would you recommend to make this happen and secondly, im working on a spanish forum, how may I edit the link that says pm this user, to another statement... like say "Eviarle mensaje privado a este usuario".?
Thank you.

I was just responding to you by email. I'll redirect my response here:

You need to make sure the information in your config.php file is correct and that all the files are in the correct directories. Particularly, make sure privatemessages.php is in your my-plugins directory and that pm.php is in the forum root directory (in the same directory as bb-load.php).

Let me know if you continue to have problems.

Hello,
I have a problem,

I dont think im following instructions correctly. Because I get this mssg:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function pm_install_check() in ************/public_html/guatemalaglobal/foroeconomico/pm.php on line 6

Now I am new to php, im evolving from css and html, so its new territory. (I might of tried the links in the templates before navigating to /pm.php and (Whitch did not exist)
I think my best bet is to uninstall and re.install the pluggin, but found myself going in circles. What do you recomend?.
Saludes,

There are a few files, all equally important. The on you're actually navigating to to see the list of PMs is called pm.php. The one that allows you to read the PM is message.php and the one that allows you to reply to the post is pm-post.php

I have installed the plugin, hopefully correctly, but when I click delete messages they don't leave.

Any idea what I've done wrong?

site still in test mode http://breadnroses.ca/forumsbbtest/
