I have been to Roosevelt State Park in south Ga near Callaway. You have assigned camp site areas and even a public restroom areas for showers. It was really neat because it had a lake where you could fish, and then there was a giant stone pool that you could pay to go to.

I'd have to ask Valerie. Also, I have zero camping gear.

Car camping? Is that like sleeping in a car, or is it camping near a parking lot where you don't have to hike in to a site?

I'm up for camping. I'd also be up for a roughing-it, hike-five-miles, pee-in-the-woods camping trip, too.

I was thinking that it would be fun for us to all go camping again. Since the wives would probably be coming I thought we'd go car camping somewhere. Of my limited search I found:
Unicoi State Park - probably the farthest away
Red Top Mountain State Park - up I-75 around mile 280 or so.
Vogel State Park - North of Helen somewhere

Do ya'll know of any other places that would be cool to go to?
I was thinking we could sometime April-May time since it wouldn't be so burning hot during the day. I was picturing just a weekend thing. Some could go up Friday night to set up or something and rest can join Saturday morning if needed and we'd just leave Sunday morning to come home.

What do ya'll think?
