GT Football Season Tickets

  1. I just received a notice in the mail that I must notify the GT ticket office by the end of February if I want to renew my season tickets for the upcoming 2008 football season. One of the highlights of this past year was the homecoming game where we all got together to tailgate and go to the game. Anita and I had a blast and we want to extend an invite to you guys if you're interested in doing that for all seven games of the season!

I have the oppportunity to upgrade my tickets and/or add extra seats. I just wanted to reach out to everyone and see if anyone is interested in going in on tickets this year. Anita and I will be keeping our two seats for the entire 7 games, but if any of you are interested, we can add two extra seats with our request-for-upgrade. Whomever wants them can pay the full amount for seven games, or split it up amongst a few of you (i.e. one person gets 3 games, the other 4 - or one person gets 3 games, one person gets 2 games, and another gets 2 games).

I'll admit, the home schedule isn't as exciting this year. The only two real highlights are FSU and Miami at home. We're also playing Mississippi State, Jacksonville State, Gardner-Webb, Virginia, and Duke. Two of the seven home games are on Thursday night, which IMHO makes for a great gametime atmosphere.

They haven't yet announced the price of tickets for this year, but last year they were $260 per seat for the season. You also have to make a mandatory $150-200 donation per seat per season to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund (tax deductible). All-in-all it comes to around $60 per seat per game. Which isn't bad when you compare it to other schools' season ticket prices.

Let me know if anyone is interested. I'll need to know by the end of the month before I submit our request to upgrade.
